The automobile is almost a necessity for modern life, there are a handful of non-drivers in the country but on the whole, people drive cars and although the type of cars we drive might be set to change in the near future because of the damage they currently do to the Earths atmosphere, it looks like now we’ve become accustomed to driving, that’s the way its staying.

Cars are a huge part of our live to such an extent that a lot of people tend to judge others based on the cars they drive. If someone is seen driving around in a brand new, shiny, expensive looking car, then that person immediately seems to have more respect than someone driving an old car with a bit of rust on the body for example.

There is a type of car however that exceeds most cars that you will ever see on the roads, and these are labelled exotic cars. Few people will ever even sit inside these cars let alone own one.

In itself, the word exotic means, unusual or strange to behold, and so applying this to cars conjures up images of automobiles with crazy paint jobs or a weird body shapes. What the term exotic car is usually perceived to mean is a car of the highest standard that only the wealthiest of people could ever even consider purchasing.

There are however, establishments that allow you to rent these cars for a few days and the better ones offer a reasonable price for them as well. If you have an event coming up that requires you to look your best like a black tie dinner, or a wedding, then to complete the picture and make the day perfect, why not pull up in a Lamborghini or a Ferrari? If nothing else, it’ll make for a feel-good start to the day.

Today, the question on everybody’s lips is, what is the significant difference between a hybrid car and a conventional vehicle? They suppose that there has to be some good reason why people are asking themselves whether hybrid cars are worth the cost and checking their wallets and savings accounts to see if they have enough money to buy a hybrid car.

There must be a good reason why some other people wouldn’t consider spending their the money on a hybrid car because they feel their conventional car gets them to wherever they have to go well enough. Here are some of the reasons why someone might choose a conventional car over a hybrid car.

Hybrid cars are much more expensive than conventional cars: because hybrid cars have a complex internal design, they do still have a fairly hefty price on them, although, conventional cars, which have become more efficient as the years have gone on, are quite affordable these days. Many people are selling their older conventional cars in favour of newer, more efficient versions.

They are so inefficient in fact, that some people even give their old cars away. However, since a large percentage of the general population has never owned a hybrid, there aren’t many people selling used hybrid cars yet. Therefore, the average person looking to buy a hybrid would probably have to purchase a new one from a car dealer.

Both a hybrid car and a conventional car use similar types of batteries: a hybrid car and a conventional car both use lead acid batteries that hold enough energy to power a small electric motor. These batteries are what you call “gear reduced”. That means that they can turn over this motor at approximately 300 rpms. Torque is generated to turn over the engine and the entire process is what starts the main engine.

But even though a hybrid car uses a lead-acid battery, its battery that works to drive the car’s electric engine is constructed differently. This kind of battery is known as a deep cycle battery and it can be compared to the batteries that are used to power golf carts.

That’s the main difference between a hybrid car and a conventional car. One person might choose a hybrid car because it makes them feel more secure. For instance, if a person buys a hybrid car, they can feel secure that their car will be less likely to run out of gas. Another person might not choose a conventional car because the cost of fuel doesn’t really bother them that much.

However, a conventional car provides security as well, although of a different sort. With a conventional car, an owner can be sure that they can always go to a junkyard, when they need to replace old parts for their car. On the other hand, those with a hybrid car will more than likely have to face some pretty pricey bills receipts if something goes wrong.

However, the final decision remains all yours. There are certain risks involved with both sorts of cars. But those who like to try out new technology might just consider splurging out on a new hybrid car.

Hybrid cars are on everyone’s minds these days. Twenty, forty, or fifty dollars for a tank of gas? Who really wants to pay that sort of money? But, frustrated, the petrol customer sighs, but pays up. However, hybrid vehicles are being richly applauded for the small amount of fuel they need to operate, and they are flying off the forecourts of car dealerships each and everyday in ever increasing numbers.

However, what about a plug-in hybrid? Most drivers have heard that these cars are great too. Then, a person might be asking him or herself, what exactly a plug-in hybrid is? How they work, and what the difference between a plug-in hybrid and a regular hybrid is?

Plug-in hybrids are able to run solely on batteries, but they use fuel also. These kinds of hybrid cars share some of the characteristics of hybrid vehicles. They are also are very similar to electric vehicles.

Plug-in hybrid cars must be charged externally by plugging them into an electrical power source. The combustion engine of plug-in hybrid vehicles is engaged only as a back up. These cars can run only on batteries if so desired, but it is to be expected that these types of hybrid cars are recharged every day.

Hybrid cars can go just as many miles as a conventional car. Designed to go the extra mile where gas-mileage is concerned, hybrids can be driven on the highway, in cities, or wherever else a person needs to drive.

On the other hand, plug-in hybrids are meant to handle commuter-type distances, meaning between twenty and sixty miles. Used in this way, the plug-in hybrid does not have to make use of its back up combustion engine, but plug-in hybrids can go further using gas too.

Hybrids help to reduce pollution, but they do still pollute the atmosphere. Compared with plug-in hybrids, hybrid cars still have a long way to go as far as pollution is concerned. Because plug-in hybrid cars can run solely on their battery power, they don’t have to emit waste gases at all.

Plug-in hybrids actually do fight against greenhouse gas emissions and plug-in hybrids use virtually no oil imported or not. Studies have shown that electric hybrids emit at least 67% less greenhouse gases compared with petrol cars. Since the electric used to power plug-in hybrids is renewable, the difference in greenhouse gas emissions may be even greater than the study indicated.

So there you have it – those are the major differences between plug-in hybrids and regular hybrid cars. It could make a big difference, but you would be surprised at how little it actually matters at the moment, but that’s only because plug-in hybrids are not being sold to consumers yet! But this article should make you enthusiastic about the fantastic plug-in hybrid car, coming soon to a dealership near you.

And it’s going to be a spectacular debut too. People already really like regular hybrid cars, but they haven’t seen anything until they see the new plug-in hybrid cars. However, for now, maybe they should just be satisfied with what they have, because who knows? Before plug-in hybrid cars come out, something even better might be introduced onto the market.

The modern automobile is a convenience that we have all become so accustomed to that it is difficult to imagine what life would be like without them now. It is fairly well known that the motor vehicle became a refined method of transport in around 1900 and onwards, however how did the very first one come about? Who was the very first person that thought to try and take the horses off the carriage and make it move with a press of a pedal?

Ferdinand Verbiest is said to have made the very first construct that could reasonably be named an automobile in around 1672. It was a very small vehicle, incapable of carrying a driver or passenger, however it did move on its own through the power of steam. Verbiest built the small toy-like vehicle as a present for the Chinese Emperor of the time.

Following that came a series of self-propelled, mechanical engines and clumsy internal combustion engines, the first of which can be accredited to Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot, who built the first self-propelled mechanical vehicle in around 1769, however there is speculation as to whether or not his vehicle was ever actually functional.

In 1806, the first internal combustion engine was invented by an inventor from Switzerland called Franois Isaac de Rivaz. It was powered using a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen and, although a break through at that time, it wasnt very successful in providing a feasible mode of transport.

The man who is usually accredited with the invention of the modern automobile is Karl Benz, although there were others working on it at around the same time such as Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach, and Siegfried Marcus. Benz completed his first Motorwagen in 1885 and was granted a patent for it in early 1886. He then began promoting the vehicles in order to try and sell them to the wealthy and between 1888 and 1893 he had sold 25 vehicles.

DMG (Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft / Daimler Motor Company) was founded in 1890 by Daimler and Maybach and under the brand name Daimler, sold their first vehicle in 1892, which was simply a horse-drawn carriage, with an engine of their own design fitted into it. By around 1895 they had built around 30 vehicles, yet they, and Benz, seemed to be unaware of each others early work.

Right towards the end of the 1900s the crankshaft and piston engine came about and throughout the 20th century developed into the sophisticated piece of technology we know it as today. Mergers between DMG and Benz in later years bore the Daimler-Benz company and the Mercedes-Benz automobile range.
