Lexus is a division of the Japanese car brand Toyota, which is a popular name among leading luxury brands. Lexus are known to be very elegant and posh cars, and are sold all over the world in around 70 countries.

There are many different types of Lexus cars such as the sedan. This category includes the Lexus GS, which is a midsized luxury sports car. The first Lexus GS was introduced in 1993 and since then three different models of this brand have been introduced in the market.

In 2009, the latest version of the Lexus GS was launched, which had become very competitive in the market. Its popularity has been giving a tough time to other luxury brands such as BMW. It is an expensive car and not everyone can afford it. For those who can, it is more than just a car; it?s a status symbol.

The 2009 model is the recent one of the GS series. This model has been immensely popular since its launch. For the rich and affording part of the society, Lexus GS indeed is a status symbol. Numerous reasons are attached to its fame as a status symbol; one of these is that it is a luxury brand name of autos. Since it is famous as a luxury auto brand, people who own it, feel pride in having it, and referring it as an elevation of their social status. Apart from other reasons, it is a fact that not everyone can afford it, which makes Lexus more exclusive. Lexus is not only known as a symbol of pride for its high price tag, but the quality factor also counts a lot.

The Lexus GS has two popular versions in the market. One of these is the Lexus GS 460, which is fitted with an 8-speed automation transmission for excellent performance and agility. The car also has state of the art security features, which provide a safe driving experience to the owner. These include Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management System (VDIM), Intuitive Park Assist (IPA) and Pre-Collision System (PCS).

The pre collision system makes use of sensors, which can detect when a collision is about to occur, and automatically retracts the seat belts and activates the brakes. The automatic braking system makes it easier to manage the car while driving at higher speeds. To reduce the number of accidents caused by bad weather, the car even has water repellent windows and rain sensing wipers. The theft defiant engine does not allow the car to start until the power key is inserted.

Because of the increasing awareness about global warming, the new hybrid version of the GS has been launched, which is known as the GS 450 H. These hybrid cars are environment friendly, as they have low emission, as they emit a low level of toxic gases, and are the only mass-produced luxury hybrid cars in the world.

Hence, it can be easily said that the Lexus GS is not only an embodiment of status symbol owing to its brand name, the car also provides excelling performance and standard that has made it so famous. Even the hybrid versions do not fall behind on quality while being eco friendly.
