His legacy includes not only his son, better known to NASCAR fans as “The King” Richard Petty and Petty Enterprises has fielded race teams for four generations.
Read the rest of this entry »Denny Hamlin, pegged as a future NASCAR superstar, ended a sophomore slump of sorts when he won the rain delayed Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway. The race had originally been scheduled for a day earlier but was pushed back due to rain. The win was Hamlins first of the season and broke a 50 race winless streak. His last victory had come in 2008 at Martinsville Raceway.
