There are many advantages to living in a heated environment such as Phoenix, AZ where the weather is beautiful all year round and snow is not a part of the average citizen’s vocabulary. It is so hot that people are more likely to burn than to tan when bathing in the sunlight.

There is a downside, however, to living in the heat, namely, the possible problems that can result because of heat. Many find that they become sick under terrible heat and dry weather. Another possibility is that of the cracking of one’s car windshield when driving.

All cars, ranging from SUV’s, RV’s, commercial trucks, and even regular cars are subject to the problem of a cracked car windshield due to the heat. A cracked windshield can become even further cracked when driving at high speeds even if the crack began as a hairline fracture. Such a crack can be the cause of major accidents and injuries, even fatalities.

The windshield, as mentioned above, is clearly a key part of the car’s safety. If an accident takes place, the windshield is the first line of defense, keeping the car in tact, airbags in place, and the passengers from being ejected.

If someone’s windshield is in anyway broken it can be a determining cause of death or casualty when an accident occurs. It is difficult to tell alone if the windshield is properly in place. Many times the glass is loose by the frame but not visible to the naked eye.

A windshield can be a major cost for the car, as under certain circumstances the car insurances refuses to cover a cracked windshield. Phoenix, however, is home to windshield replacement specialists who do a great job at a very reasonable price.

Phoenix auto glass does not require any insurance payments for their prices of windshield replacements and charge generally between $129-$179. Manufacturers generally charge double for replacement of windshields. Phoenix auto glass is dedicated to charging the best price in the Phoenix area for windshield repairs.

They can provide services on any type of car. Whether it is a SUV, RV, commercial truck, or just a regular car, Phoenix Auto Glass can help you.

by Michael S.

The number one question you have to answer, in regards to dealing with a cracked windshield, is whether you need a complete replacement (which will cost you around $200) or just a repair (which is priced at around $40).

The probability of you getting a replacement windshield is greatly increased if the cracks make the surface uneven, or are located at the center or the edges of the windshield. A lot of the auto glass services in your area will come to you directly.

Some people, when they see some sort of crack or damage on their windshield, think the worst and assume that their windshield will be broken within a matter of minutes. Although we are conditioned (perhaps by the advertisements from auto glass services) to always start looking to repair the auto glass, slightly damaged auto glass can last for years without a repair (especially if the crack or bruise if really minor).

If you want to play it safe, however, you can call an auto glass service to inspect and perhaps repair the damage. Seeing that a repair, and even a replacement, is not that expensive, its probably worth calling your local auto glass repair service.

If you find out that you need a complete windshield replacement, you can save a lot of money by going to a junkyard and picking up a nice used windshield from there. Since color does not matter, theres a good chance that you’re going to find a matching windshield for your auto.

However, when you find a pre-owned windshield, don’t think of installing it yourself as you may very well cut yourself. Simply take the used windshield you found and pay an auto glass company in the neighborhood of $40-$60 to install the windshield.

Wouldn’t your auto insurance policy pay for the cost to repair or replace a damaged windshield?

If the windshield was damaged as part of an accident in which the other person is found to be at fault, then their liability insurance would pay for the repairs. If, however, the cracks or damage came out of nowhere (a result of where and tear), you’re going to have to have comprehensive coverage if you expect your insurance to pay anything.

However, be sure to talk to your auto insurer as some insurance companies are more lenient than others.
